3 Brew and View Pairings By the Blue Wall

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

After a long hike filled with steep climbs, expansive views, and a renewed appreciation of nature, there’s nothing better than an ice-cold brew. In Lake Hartwell Country, the land By the Blue Wall, we have a few pairing suggestions for hikes in our region and awesome places to enjoy a brew afterward.

Tamassee Knob Trail and Jocassee Valley Brewing

The Tamassee Knob Trail is a beautiful 2.1 mile, one-way hike in Oconee State Park. Once you reach the knob at the end of the trail, the views from the mountain can’t be beat. Pair this hike with a tasty draft at Jocassee Valley Brewing Company on Highway 11. This one is a match made in heaven!

Table Rock Trail and Appalachian Ale House

The Table Rock Trail is a very popular trail in Table Rock State Park located in Pickens, SC. However, don’t underestimate this trail! It’s 3.6 miles one way, and it’s all uphill. Once you reach the top, the views are indescribable. After this strenuous hike, you need to reward yourself! Head into downtown Pickens to Appalachian Ale House to sample some regional brews.

Wildcat Falls and Carolina Bauernhaus

Wildcat Falls is a 3.8 mile loop in the Clemson Experimental Forest. This trail crosses several streams, so wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet! The waterfall itself is absolutely beautiful. Following this hike, head down to Anderson to try some amazing beers at Carolina Bauernhaus. Their “hyper local” brew choices will top off the day perfectly.
