As the weather warms up in Lake Hartwell Country, the mountains of South Carolina, we can’t help but to get excited about the many outdoor adventures that the changing of the season brings. Spring is a great time to plan your outdoor adventure getaway to South Carolina’s mountains, and we’ve got a few ideas for you to check out so that you can create your perfect outdoor vacation.
For those that don’t like the idea of braving chilly waters in the winter months, Spring is the perfect time to break out the paddles and go kayaking. With three major lakes, several rivers, and one Wild and Scenic river, there are several ways to kayak to your heart’s content in the South Carolina mountains.
Lake Hartwell Country offers several miles of mountain biking trail, with the newest addition to these trails being the Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park. Located in Stumphouse Park in Walhalla, SC, this state-of-the-art facility has over 14 miles of biking trails that will satisfy your craving for adventure.
Being in the mountains of South Carolina, it’s only natural that we have some great hiking in our region. South Carolina’s most iconic summit hike, Table Rock Mountain, is located in Pickens, SC and offers stunning views of the upstate at the top. Note, this is a strenuous trail, so be sure to bring plenty of water!
